A fine porcelain scent bottle with a cork mounted pull-off crown stopper and patterned gilt metal neck cover. The yellow and white ground bottle has bevelled edges and an expanded lower section hand decorated in polychrome enamels with birds perching on leafy twigs, the edges are embellished with flowers and insects. Condition: wear to the cork; minor rubbing to the decoration; light age and use wear; nothing further found. Circa 1890, Continental, overglaze line and oval mark not identified. Article measured in centimetres and rounded to the nearest quarter inch. Height including crown 11cm/4.25in.
