A playful opalescent ocean-life vase on a flared base. The bucket shape body features relief moulded fish swimming amongst weeds, and is applied with three dimensional seahorse handles, the base is embellished with sea grasses. Condition: light surface age and use wear, mostly to the interior; nothing further found. Circa 1930s, this example unmarked but definitely by Barolac (Josef Inwald, Czechoslovakia) for the English importer, John Jenkins & Sons. Article measured in centimetres and rounded to the nearest quarter inch. Height 17cm/6.75in, rim diameter 15.5cm/6in.
