An attractive and good size ball shape porcelain scent bottle, with a pull-off sterling silver top, silver collar, and glass stopper. The graduated pale blue to pink ground body is decorated in polychrome with a bird and gilt highlighted flower head and leaf spray above a plum colour sprig. Condition: minor rubbing to the decoration; light surface wear; nothing further found. Silver hallmarked for Birmingham 1894, rubbed maker's mark for Colen Hewer Cheshire. 7.5cm/2.95in high; 6.5cm/2.56in wide.
