An oval green lustre ground porcelain scent bottle with a cork lined sterling silver screw top. The bottle features a gilded outline framing a hand embellished polychrome transfer print of a romantic couple wearing Rococo dress seated in an outdoor setting. Condition: light rubbing to the gilt, minor rubbing to the transfer decoration; light surface age and use wear; nothing further found; good screw fit. Silver hallmarked for Birmingham 1901, maker's mark 'HBCo' for Herbert Bushell & Co. Article measured in centimetres and rounded to the nearest quarter inch. Height 6cm/2.5in, width 3.5cm/1.5in.
