A splendid small novelty desk clock, featuring a country town scene with clock tower and hills beyond. At the top of the tower is a gold bell that moves in time with the escapement. The yellow metal clock is framed by a blue enamel outer ring, and has two side bolsters which rest on a marble base. Comes with the original presentation case. Condition: small line mark along the top surface (see image); light surface wear to the yellow metal; light wear to the presentation case; nothing further found; clock fully functional, recently serviced (see picture report), twenty four hour Swiss movement. Circa 1920s, made by the Solomax Watch Company. Article measured in centimetres and rounded to the nearest quarter inch. Clock height including marble base 6.3cm/2.5in, width including marble base 6.5cm/2.5in, depth 2cm/0.75in, dial diameter 4.7cm/2in.
