1930s 40s Thomas Webb blue overlay cut and engraved crystal vase

A splendid blue overlay cut to clear tumbler shape vase, with a scalloped rim, panel and diamond mid section, and banded base. The panels feature clear stylised floral motifs, and are further embellished with stripes and lenses, the diamonds are also cut with stripes with additional deep grooves above and below. The clear body is worked in the Battuto technique with a pattern of random indentations and polished outlines; the base is embellished with a twenty four point star. Condition: stand wear to the under-base; minor age and use wear; no damage found. Late 1930s - 40s, signed with a 'Webb' acid mark plus separate 'Made in England'. Dimensions based on centimetres and rounded to nearest quarter inch. Height 20cm/8in, width 14.5cm/5.75in.
