c.1790 Georgian cut glass scent perfume bottle, silver top

An excellent George III laydown scent bottle, with a silver pull-off top, and glass stopper. The elongated flat oval bottle is cut to the front and back with blazes, the sides with scoops. The front features a gilded and engraved lidded urn with leaves below, all within a laurel leaf cartouche. Condition: gilt probably refreshed at some point, light rubbing; one or two tiny nicks to high points, light surface age and use wear; some dimpling and marking to the silver top; nothing further found; good tight pull-off fit. Circa 1790-1800, silver not hallmarked but tested. Measurement based on centimetres and rounded to the nearest quarter inch. Height 14cm/5.75in, width 6cm/2.25in.
