A good example of a glass scent bottle also known as a 'throwaway' or 'attar' bottle. The clear cross cut body is hand gilded, the front and back with stripe patterns and crosses, the sides with sprays. Condition: some rubbing to the gilt; light wear; stopper not present; nothing further found. Circa 1820-40. Article measured in centimetres and rounded to the nearest quarter inch. Height 12cm/4.75in, width 1.5cm/0.5cm.
