c.1890 Cranberry Thread Glass Jar, Philip Ashberry Plated Mounts

A charming tapered sugar or bonbon jar with a patterned silver plate lid and footed saucer, the pull-up cranberry festoon decoration is overlaid with clear machine threading. Condition: some rubbing to the plate, light surface wear to the glass, nothing further found. Circa 1890, the plate marked for Philip Ashberry & Sons, Sheffield. Height including finial 14cm/5.75in, saucer diameter 15cm/5.91in.
