An Art Nouveau relief pressed polychrome tile featuring double leaf swirls with bell flower trails, a central leaf pattern, and an eight petal circular flower head in pink and light brown on a cream ground. Condition: small area bottom left where the glaze has not spread; one or two minute edge nicks; minor surface wear; typical glaze crazing; nothing further found. Circa 1905, marked to the reverse for Hemixem, Belgium. Article measured in centimetres and rounded to the nearest quarter inch. 15cm/6in square.
