c.1930s perched cockatoo cold painted Vienna bronze

Category: OTHER, Silver, Metalware, Other

A nice example of this collectable art form in the shape of a cockatoo perched on a long branch between two long leaf clusters above a sawn stump and tree roots, the whole on a marble base. The bird is fixed to the branch by a small screw and a peg. Condition: very small losses to the paint work; light age and use wear; nothing further found. Circa 1930s, apparently unmarked, though any marks are likely to be found on the under-base of the tree which is currently not accessible. Article measured in centimetres and rounded to the nearest quarter inch. Height 15cm/5.75in, width 16cm/6.5in, depth 7.5cm/3in, weight 0.59kg/1.3lb. Weight of a roughly similar marble base is 180g/0.4lb.
