c.1930s Pierre d'Avesn acid etched glass vase with metal mounts, signed VAL

An exciting and scarce tapered ovoid form French vase, the rim and base mounted with beaten effect plated mounts. The grey patina ground vase is deep acid etched with stylised floral and leaf motifs, as well as bead drops. Condition: light surface age and use wear; some light rubbing to the plate; nothing further found. Circa 1930s, etched 'VAL' mark for Verreries d'Art Lorrain (Pierre d'Avesn), same mark stamped on the metal rim mount. Article measured in centimetres and rounded to the nearest quarter inch. Height 17cm/6.75in.
