Late C19th Legras enamelled horse chestnut glass bowl, Victor Saglier plated rim

New Listing. An excellent aqua green glass bowl, hand decorated in raised enamel with polychrome horse chestnuts and leaves. The bowl is mounted with a horse chestnut and leaf pattern silver plate rim band, and further plain band to the base. Condition: stand wear to the under-base; some rubbing to the silver plate; very minor rubbing to the decoration; light surface wear; nothing further found. Late C19th, the plate band stamped 'VS' for French silversmith Victor Saglier (1809-1894), glass unmarked but almost certainly by Legras. Article measured in centimetres and rounded to the nearest quarter inch. Height 9.5cm/3.75in, rim diameter 20cm/8in.
