An exceptional and rare rectangular malachite glass Art Deco table box with applied bevelled bars, the relief lid design incorporating chess pieces, playing cards, casino chips, a champagne glass, and cigar. The interior has a fitted wood compartment for cigarettes or cards. Condition: wear to the under-base felt; light surface wear; nothing further found; hinge firm, good closure. 1935-6, produced by Heinrich Hoffmann, designed by Alexander Pfohl, see "Ingrid, More Than Just a Brand" Petr Novy, MSB 2012, page 109.
