A most attractive crystal bowl, the lightly bulbous lower section cut with flutes, the base embellished with a twenty four point star. The rim is mounted with a silver plate cover featuring ram's heads, ribbons, ornaments, and floral swags. Condition: stand wear to the under-base of the bowl; light surface wear; light rubbing to the plate; nothing further found. Circa 1900, probably German or Austrian, the band is stamped with the letters "W" over "H.P." over "AW" within an octagon. Dimensions based on centimetres and rounded to nearest quarter inch. Height 8.5cm/3.5in, diameter 21cm/8.5in.
