An attractive square crystal box with bevelled corners, the cover acid etched with a seated female figure blowing polished bubbles in an outdoor setting, cupid holds a polished bowl. The rim of the box is mounted with French silver. Condition: some stand wear to the under-base; light surface wear; nothing further found. Circa 1930s, Heinrich Hoffmann, acid etched butterfly mark, probably designed by Adolf Beckert, identified in the 1933 Hoffmann catalogue, page 19, silver hallmarked with a Minerva head and maker's mark. Height 4.5cm/1.77in, width 8.5cm/3.35in.
