A fine clear over brown cased and faceted vase on a clear base, the inside masterfully cut with honeycomb bands to the neck section and graduated rectangles to the lower section. Condition: stand wear to the under-base, one or two tiny nicks to high points and edges, light surface age and use wear; nothing further found. Mid 1930s, unmarked but definitely Val St. Lambert and in all probability by Joseph Simon. Article measured in centimetres and rounded to the nearest quarter inch. Height 20cm/8in, rim diameter 14cm/5.5in, weight 2.06kg/4.54lb.
