An excellent ruby flashed oval glass box and hinged cover with yellow metal mounts. The lid is masterfully engraved to clear with a ship under full sail on a choppy sea. Condition: stand wear to the under-base; light surface marking and age related wear to the ruby flashing; nothing further found; hinge firm, good closure. Circa 1890-1900, Bohemian. Dimensions based on centimetres and rounded to nearest quarter inch. Height 9cm/3.5in, width 10.5cm/4in, depth 5.5cm/2in.
