An excellent shaft and compressed globe "tumble up" water carafe, matching shaped tumbler, and matching dish. The glass is cased in clear over orange-red, over white, and is embellished with hand decorated Arabesque and plain gilt bands. Condition: some rubbing to the gilt, mostly where the rim of the tumbler sits on the carafe; minor surface wear; nothing further found. Circa 1840, unmarked but probably Adolfhütte Winterberg. Article measured in centimetres and rounded to the nearest quarter inch. Combined height 19.5cm/7.75in, carafe width 12.5cm/5in, tumbler height 12cm/4.75in, dish diameter 19cm/7.5in
