An impressive and large clear glass Römer, the cup bowl on a banded spreading hollow stem and rounded base. At first glance, the decoration of vines and two male figures looks like a transfer print, it is in fact hand decorated white enamel. The skilful artist has scraped through the white with a fine point leaving fine and broader clear lines and hatching to give a dimensional effect. Condition: minor rubbing to the white enamel; minor surface wear; nothing further found. Circa 1880, Bohemian or German. Height 20.5cm/8in, rim diameter 8.5cm/3.25in.
