A fine pale blue opaline glass vase with a trumpet neck and ovoid body on four applied feet. The vase features on the one side a hand enamelled great tit perched amongst flower and leaf sprays, on the other, a large dragonfly on the wing amongst a flower and leaf spray, the motifs are painted in an effective, lightly stylised manner. Additional design elements include a white dot band and gilding to the rim, and white arrowhead medallions to the feet. Condition: light surface age and use wear; minor rubbing to the gilt; nothing further found. Circa 1880, unmarked but definitely by Harrach. Article measured in centimetres and rounded to the nearest quarter inch. Height 27.5cm/11in, width 20cm/8in.
