A modish tall Deco vase with a wide notch cut rim over a prism neck, facet and prism lower section, and sloped clear facet base. The vase is cased in a light amethyst-brown tint, the surfaces are decorated in gilt with freehand dots, circles and symbols, the base is embellished with a deep cut eight point star. Condition: stand wear to the under-base; one or two internal fine and unobtrusive surface marks towards the bottom caused by the use of a metal flower arranger; some light rubbing to the gilt, light age and use wear; nothing further found. Circa 1930s, unmarked but definitely Val St. Lambert, shape name "Ardennes". Article measured in centimetres and rounded to the nearest quarter inch. Height 26cm/10.25in, rim diameter 16cm/6.5in, weight 1.8kg/3.97lb.
