An unusual crystal cylinder scent bottle with a sterling silver hinged top, silver collar, and glass stopper. The top is mounted with a ruby cabochon, and a silver snake with ruby eyes is coiled round the glass, its head on the collar. Condition: light dimpling to the top; light surface age and use wear; nothing further found; hinge firm, good closure. Silver hallmarked for Birmingham 1896, maker's mark "AC&Co" for Cohen and Charles. Article measured in centimetres and rounded to the nearest quarter inch. Height 7cm/3in.
