A refined cased green glass scent bottle, the facet cut sides highlighted in gilt. The bottle has an engine turned silver gilt hinged top, patterned collar, and glass stopper. Condition: top mounted slightly off centre; some rubbing to the gilt; light surface age and use wear; nothing further found; hinge firm, good closure. Circa 1870, hallmarked with a French boar's head stamp and rhomboid maker's mark "GD". Article measured in centimetres and rounded to the nearest quarter inch. Height 10.5cm/4in.
