A fine ovoid and tapered porcelain scent bottle with a cork lined pull-off bun stopper. The cobalt blue ground bottle features two masterfully hand painted scenes within oval gilt cartouches: "Amor and Bachus" and "Musik". The sides and lower sections of the bottle are embellished in gilt with delicate foliate work, urns, birds, and bird heads. Condition: wear to the cork; minor rubbing to the decoration; light surface age and use wear; nothing further found. Circa 1870, the underside with underglaze Vienna beehive mark, plus hand painted titles of the two scenes above. Height 10.8cm/4.25in, width 4.5cm/1.77in, depth 2.5cm/0.98in.
