A splendid monocular shape porcelain scent bottle, with gilt metal mounts, ornate finger-ring chain, and glass stopper, the base is fitted with a mirror. The body is hand enamelled in polychrome with a perched bird, butterfly, flower heads, and leaf sprays, plus additional gilt highlighting. Condition: rubbing to the gilt metal; one or two small dints to the top, light wear; nothing further found; hinge firm, good snap closure. Circa 1890, Continental, probably Austrian or Swiss. Height 7cm/2.76in, base diameter 2.8cm/1.1in.
