An excellent capstan shape cobalt glass table bottle with a gilt floral decorated bun stopper. The bottle has facet and notch cut shoulders hand decorated with a finely executed band of grape bunches, leaves and tendrils, the facet middle section has a wider band of the same design, the notch ring and base are embellished with gilt. Condition: very small neck chip removed and polished; stand wear to the under-base; small flat spot on the stopper; minor rubbing to the gilt; light wear commensurate with age; nothing further found; stopper and base stylus marked "50". Circa 1840, quite possibly by the Buquoysche Glashütte Silberberg. Height 14.5cm/5.75in, base diameter 8cm/3.15in.
