A striking tall amethyst glass scent bottle and lacquered facet stopper in its original matching glass stand. The bottle has facet shoulders and is cut with crosshatch ovals, diamond panels and leaf spears, the stand echoes these designs and is further embellished with a cogwheel base ring, as well as fans and strawberry diamonds to the under-base. Condition: stopper probably a replacement; one or two miniscule nicks to high points and edges; one or to grit flecks in the glass; light surface wear; nothing further found. Circa 1870-80, Bohemian. Article measured in centimetres and rounded to the nearest quarter inch. Height 28cm/11.25in, average bottle width 4cm/1.75in, stand base diameter 9cm/3.75in.
