NS. A refined clear crystal dressing table bottle, with a domed facet and ribbed finial stopper on a short chimney neck and rectangular section body. The bottle is decorated with gilt star and oval bands, cut blade rings, and features a hand painted black silhouette of the German poet, Friedrich Gottlieb Klopstock (1724-1803), within a knotted ribbon cartouche. Condition: stand wear to the under-base; very minor rubbing to the gilt; minor wear; nothing further found. Circa 1890, glass probably produced by Meyr's Neffe, Winterberg, rubbed gilt Lobmeyr mark and poet's name to the base. Height 15cm/6in, width 6.5cm/2.5in, depth 4.5cm/1.75in.
