NS. A fine clear crystal dressing table bottle, with a domed facet and ribbed finial stopper on a short chimney neck and rectangular section body. The bottle is decorated with gilt star and oval bands, cut blade rings, and features a hand painted black silhouette of the German poet, Ludwig Christof Heinrich Hölty (1748-1776), within a knotted ribbon cartouche. Condition: stand wear to the under-base; very minor rubbing to the gilt; minor wear; nothing further found. Circa 1890, glass probably produced by Meyr's Neffe, Winterberg, gilt Lobmeyr mark and poet's name to the base. Height 15cm/6in, width 6.5cm/2.5in, depth 4.5cm/1.75in.
