An attractive barrel shape crystal dressing table bottle and conforming oval stopper, the neck mounted with a flower head, leaf, and berry pattern silver collar. The top section of the bottle is masterfully engraved with large and small flower heads, and swirling leaves over a trellis like ground, the bottom section is cut with hobnails and diamonds, the base is embellished with a twenty four point star. Condition: some wear to the silver collar; light surface age and use wear to the glass; nothing further found, stopper and neck scratch marked "5". Circa 1900, silver not hallmarked but tested for purity, probably Continental. Article measured in centimetres and rounded to the nearest quarter inch. Height 16.5cm/6.5in, width 8cm/3.25in.
