An excellent ruby overlay crystal dressing table bottle and bun top stopper, the latter cut with a radial burst, as well as a hobnail and diamond band between parallel grooves. The bottle has an eight sided fact cut neck, stepped shoulders, and hobnail and diamond patterning similar to the stopper; the base is embellished with a twenty four point star. Condition: stand wear to the under-base; one or two tiny nicks to high points; minor surface wear; nothing further found; stopper and neck stylus marked "16". Circa 1900, Val St.Lambert, Belgium, pattern name "Hob-Diamond". Height 16cm/6in, diameter 6.5cm/2.25in.
