A handsome pot and cover with a leafy whorl pattern ground. The lid has a circular viewing port within a gilt palmette cartouche, the rim is embellished with a bell flower and notch pattern band, the pot is decorated with a palmette ring. Condition: light surface age and use wear; some rubbing to the gilt, mostly the lid; nothing further found; wide indented and polished pontil. Circa 1910, unmarked but almost certainly by St. Louis. Article measured in centimetres and rounded to the nearest quarter inch. Height 5.5cm/2.25in, diameter 8cm/3.25in. Three other matching items from this set available.
