An excellent silver cylinder scent bottle with a leaf and pattern embossed hinged top, and glass stopper. The bottle is engraved in the manner of Kate Greenaway with a figure of Bo Peep holding a crook and standing on a fence, the piece is further embellished in the round with flower head and leaf sprays. Condition: light dimpling and slight seam wear to the base; tiny dig in the silver to the left of the crook hand; light surface age and use wear; nothing further found, hinge firm, good snap closure; comes with the original presentation box. Silver hallmarked for London 1885, maker's mark "GH" for the Harrison Brothers and George Howson. Article measured in centimetres and rounded to the nearest quarter inch. Height 5.7cm/2.25in.
