1896 sterling silver scent perfume bottle with vinaigrette

A handsome six sided silver scent bottle with a hinged bun top, and glass stopper. The bottle is engraved with foliate scrollwork, leaves, and flower heads, the central shield cartouche is empty. The hinged base opens to reveal a vinaigrette with "pepper pot" grill. Condition: tiny bump to the neck rim; light surface age and use wear; nothing further found; top hinge firm, good closure, minor hinge play to the vinaigrette lid, good closure. Silver hallmarked for Birmingham 1896, maker's mark "H&T" for Hilliard & Thomason. Article measured in centimetres and rounded to the nearest quarter inch. Height 8cm/3.25in, diameter 3cm/1.25in.
