A hinged green shagreen scent bottle etui, containing a clear crystal scent bottle engraved with a leaf spray to both sides. Condition: some surface age and use wear to the etui; light hinge play but good closure; minor age and use wear to the bottle, nothing further found. Circa 1840, possibly a little earlier. Article measured in centimetres and rounded to the nearest quarter inch. Etui height 4.5cm/2in, width 2cm/0.75in, bottle height 4cm/1.75in.
