A pleasing flask form scent bottle, with a hinged top, silver crenelated mounts, and glass stopper. The bottle is decorated in the round with polychrome enamels and features two cherubs in a rural setting inspecting a nest full of chicks. Condition: light surface wear; minor rim edge dint to the silver base mount; nothing further found; hinge firm, good closure. Circa 1870, hallmarked with a boar's head in two places, plus maker's mark. 9.5cm/3.75in high, 3cm/1.25in diameter.
