An excellent cylinder form scent bottle, with a hinged top, silver gilt patterned mount, and glass stopper. The bottle is decorated in the round with polychrome enamels and features a young couple in a river bank setting, the top and bottom are painted with a continuation of the scene. Condition: light surface wear; nothing further found; hinge firm, good closure. Circa 1870, hallmarked with a boar's head. 6.3cm/2.5in high, 1.8cm/0.75in diameter.
