A splendid Art Nouveau amphora shape silver scent bottle, with a rose screw top, dauber, and ornate suspensory chain. The bottle is decorated in relief with whiplash bindweed. Condition: light surface wear; nothing further found; good screw closure. Circa 1905, German, one handle stamped "900" and "DEP" (patent mark), the other handle and chain stamped with the maker's mark "BA". Dimensions based on centimetres and rounded to nearest quarter inch. Height excluding chain 5.5cm/2in, width 3cm/1in.
