A grey-green ground tile featuring an Islamic inspired stylised leaf and flower head design in dark and light green. Condition: small pottery origin glaze covered edge loss top right corner; one or two minute edge nicks; light surface wear; fine glaze crazing; nothing further found. Circa 1890, impressed Sands End pottery mark, retailed by Morris & Co., see "William De Morgan Tiles", Jon Catleugh, Richard Dennis 1991, pages 43 and 113. Article measured in centimetres and rounded to the nearest quarter inch. 20.5cm/8in square.
