An appealing Aesthetic Movement Chinoiserie two tier ebonised wood stand, with a pierced skirt to the front, carved and decorated legs, and shallow carved flower heads and leaf sprigs to the tops. The stand is set with two striking polychrome floral, leaf, and sprig faience tiles on blue grounds. Condition: some light surface wear and marking to the wood commensurate with age and use; some light surface wear and glaze crazing to the tiles; nothing further found. Circa 1900, wood stand unmarked, both tiles with trellis backs and relief mark "Longwy". Stand height 75cm/29.5in, square width 36cm/14in, top tile 26cm/10in square, bottom tile 20cm/8in square.
